Basketball player Lance Stephenson could face up to 12 years in prison after he allegedly pushed Jasmine Williams, his girlfriend down a flight of stairs early Sunday morning. He was taken into custody and faces two charges of assault, one count of harassment and two others for menacing. While the woman was treated at a hospital for injuries sustained in a fall down.
The Brooklyn native was drafted with the 40th overall pick by the Pacers after one year at Cincinnati where he averaged 12 points, five rebounds and two assists. Lance Stephenson had a prior run-ins with the law, most notably he was charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl while in high school in 2008. Now Stephenson has been freed without bail, despite the fact that prosecutors were asking for a $7,500 bail. Lance Stephenson and Jasmine Williams have a child together.
